Library Plaza Work to Begin Next Week

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

I just got a call from Sean Simonson, of the City of Northfield’s Engineering Department. He said that the Library Plaza Work will begin next week. They’re having a preconstruction meeting this Friday and more details will be available soon.

Sean said that in this first phase, the disruption should be minimal. He thought that we’ll lose two parking spaces on Division and maybe three on 3rd but that traffic should not be interrupted. We’ll know for sure after Friday.

Stay tuned for more breaking news…

This is Celebration Weekend with Oles celebrating Commencement and Class Reunions up on the western hill of Northfield. Commencement 2006 is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2006. There will be Oles everywhere (if the revelers are wearing this symbol, it’s a fairly reliable indication of their “Ole-ness”), so be especially nice to them on their big weekend and give them a warm welcome to Northfield.

…this Thursday, from 5 to 7 pm, Upstairs Tavern.
