NDDC Follows Up with Mayor, Council on Quality of Life Issues

GraffitiWestSide.jpgIt seems that every year as soon as the weather begins to warm up, we experience some “quality of life” issues in certain areas of downtown. For the past three or four years, the NDDC has met with our elected officials, city staff and the police department in an effort to address these issues.

We sent the letter reprinted below to the Mayor and Council. Mayor Rossing recently contacted me and said that the issue has been queued up for discussion and action. (more…)

Northfield Area Foundation Contributes to Holiday Decorations Fund

NAF check acceptance.jpgThe Northfield Area Foundation awarded a $2,710 grant to the Northfield Downtown Development Corporation on Saturday morning to support the Downtown Holiday Decorations Fund, a collaboration with the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

NDDC Thanks Representative Bly and Senator Dahle for Commercial Property Tax Proposals

Partners Collaborate on Market Area Profile

CowsCollegesContentmentSign.jpgThe Four Partners of Economic Development, the EDA, NDDC, NEC, and Chamber of Commerce, are working together on a Market Area Profile. The Partners met with the U of M’s Bruce Schwartau last week to begin the process. The Profile represents a more comprehensive approach to market analysis, moving from a strictly geographic-based definition to include a characteristic-based definition. (more…)
