Carls Return to Northfield

CarlsAtTurbine_DougBratlandIt’s Carleton Reunion Weekend.  Let’s all welcome those folks in maize and blue.

And speaking of Carleton College, it’s their Annual Garage Sale, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Friday, June 19th.  The event is also a fund-raiser for the Northfield Union of Youth, better known as The Key.

Also on Friday, Joe Meyer, 7 to 11 p.m., Tavern Lounge (river side of the historic Archer House , Karaoke, 9 p.m., Rueb’N'Stein, and Bohemian Duo, Contented Cow. (more…)

Taste of Northfield – come rain or shine

Taste of Northfield The fourth annual Taste of Northfield is just around the corner! We hope to see you and your family and friends downtown on Bridge Square, Thursday, June 18 (yes, that’s tomorrow!) from 5-10 p.m. We want to assure everyone that this event will take place RAIN OR SHINE!

In case of severe weather, the Taste of Northfield activities will be moved indoors to The Grand Event Center at 316 Washington Street in downtown Northfield. (Note: Food vendors will stay on Bridge Square).

5-10 p.m. Food Tastings
5-10 p.m. Beer Garden
5-8 p.m. Face Painting & Balloon Animals
5-9 p.m. Wine Tasting
5-6 p.m. Live Music featuring Carey Langer
5-7:30 p.m. Silent Auction
6-7 p.m. Live Music featuring the Northfield Community Band
7 p.m. Bank Raid Re-enactment
7:30 p.m. Live Auction
8-10 p.m. Dance featuring The Over and Back Band

Peter Diggins Brings On the Weekend

Business and Organizational Leaders Develop Market Area Profile

MarketAreaProfileGroupInterested and motivated business and organizational leaders gathered this morning for the second session with the University of Minnesota Extension Service on the Market Area Profile for Northfield this morning.  About 18 people reviewed the findings to-date, honed the search characteristics for the second phase, and began to suggest tactics for turning the findings into actions.
