NDDC Makes Statement at Public Forum

At the City of Northfield’s Public Forum on the Budget, Jessica Paxton, Secretary of the NDDC Board, presented a statement from the Board to the City Council.  The statement is offered below:

Good Evening Mayor and Councilors, thank you for the opportunity to speak tonight.  My name is Jessica Paxton and I am an officer on the Board of Directors of the Northfield Downtown Development Corporation, a non-profit organization focused on sustaining the vibrancy and vitality of our beautiful, historic downtown.

On behalf of my fellow board members, I want to thank you for holding this Public Forum. Issues like the City Budget are of utmost importance to our community, and we believe that it is essential that our elected officials seek citizen input on matters like these. (more…)

NDDC Board Visits Fit to be Tri’d

NDDC Board Visits Aquatic Pets

A delegation of the NDDC Board visited with Liz Messner, owner of Aquatic Pets.  I tease with the use of the word “delegation” because at the end of our visit, Liz revealed that she is a leader in the community of Waterford Township and we chatted a bit about Northfield’s recent annexation efforts.

Aquatic Pets has been serving Northfield for 20 years, or since 1990, offering a wide variety of products for pets while focusing on the aquatic variety.  They’ve occupied three locations in downtown during that time, on the west side of Dahomey Avenue (Highway 3), at the corner of Dahomey and Second Street, and now right in the heart of Northfield on Division Street.
